We announced our newest technologies last week at MJBizCon and we're excited to share them with you!

ReFraction™ is our artificial intelligent "eyes inside the system". We have spent much of 2019 researching and developing this technology and are proud to say the results are better than expected! Apeks introduced the first truly smart technology in CO2 extraction that leverages artificial intelligence to give operators unprecedented insight into what’s really happening inside the system to increase efficiency and customize yield.

Watch the video below to give you an idea of how this technology works!

ReFraction™improves efficiency, maximizes desired outputs and customizes yield by automatically detecting saturation levels inside the machine, then will either alert the operator when to switch, or will switch automatically, between cannabinoids and terpenes - see the charts below for a snapshot of what the behind-the-scenes calibration will look like!

It also senses when diminishing returns begin and prevents a partial extraction by monitoring cannabinoid and terpene levels in real time so the machine stops at the optimal time. This real time information not only allows operators to customize yields like never before, but also can eliminate the costly time of manually watching the extraction process and allow operators to move on to more productive day-to-day operations.

ReFraction™ can be programmed into Apeks’ high-output systems including The Duplex® and TheForce®.

Co-Solvent Technology

Not only will ReFraction™ help with your extraction, we also introduced a co-solvent module upgrade! Turbo charge any of our Apeks systems to increase the power of CO2 extraction.

  • Ability to Inject 0-5% ethanol into the CO2 stream during a run
  • Up to a 50% shorter extraction time depending on parameter
  • Selectable Injection time, start it after the terp run or even after initial crude run to squeeze out more
  • Will include CO2 Flow Meter
  • 100% controls integration
  • Easier Separator Cleanout

To celebrate our accomplishments and a year full of changes, we're hosting an Open House next week - everyone is welcome. A light lunch will be served and we'll have a silent auction to raise money for charity. RSVP here!

We've added signage to our new location so now no-one can get lost!

This year has brought about tremendous changes for the industry and for Apeks Supercritical! Here's a summary of everything that happened at Apeks in 2019:

February: we started broadcasting webinars and to date have reached more than 6,700 viewers

March: we hosted an open house at our Commerce Road location and had an excellent turnout

April: we went to a trade show in Germany and subsequently sold the show system to a customer in Greece

May: signed the lease for our new 30,000 square foot facility

June: we shipped our 600th system to a customer in North Carolina

July: we completed the move to our new facility

August: we closed an acquisition deal with RBI (Rough Brothers)

September: we launched new branding

October: we launched a new website

November: we headed south to Cape Town for a trade show and signed a distribution agreement with a distributor in South Africa

December: we introduced two new technologies - ReFraction™ and a co-solvent module upgrade

In addition, over the course of the year, we increased our employee count to 46 and welcomed many new #apeksfamily members. We can't wait to see what 2020 brings!

We sent a whole crew of people, from all departments, to MJBizCon last week!

Andy Joseph, company founder and now general manager

Kristen Joseph, director of QC

Dave LaRussa, director of sales; Nick Prystash, sales executive; Jake Didion, sales executive

Tara Wilsworth, marketing coordinator

Jeremy Sexton, director of engineering

Sam Shomper, senior mechanical engineer

Lane Mosher, service manager

Alivia Didion, service technician

Lane and Alivia from service were with us at MJBizCon but Ben and Jake manned the phone lines while they were away and customers didn't see a break in service!

In November, Nick and Tara talked about which method of extraction is best for you - the answer? That depends! Watch the webinar and by signing up for our channel, you'll be notified of upcoming webinars. Later this week, Kristen and Tara will discuss regulation in the industry.

Sign up for our channel and you'll be notified about upcoming webinars - they should all be broadcast around the end of each month.

Despite the additional space, sometimes we have to stack the systems three deep at the QC area!

Follow us on Instagram to keep updated on the comings and goings of our systems.
